Sarah, my wife, and I were trying to make it a tradition of going to the hotel every year for our anniversary on Valentine's Day. We love how you decorate and the hotel is our sanctuary. We planned to stay in a different room every time and try to get to them all by the time we hit 50 years of marriage. So far we've only been able to stay in the Hearts & Flowers room and the Love Nest suite.
This past visit my wife struggled with her Cystic Fibrosis. We still managed to make the best of it. We had our traditional meal at the steakhouse and explored downtown SLO when we could go out. Staying in was its own luxury and we loved every second of our time away from it all at the Inn.
We live in Los Angeles and drive out. It's a great drive. We can unwind and relax in a setting that's familiar to us both as we grew up in Western New York, a more rural part of the nation. I think we could retire to SLO one day but my wife must fight for quality healthcare for all with her union, SEIU-UHW, and I'm busy helping people escape and making entertainment with Marvel. Going to the Madonna Inn is a privilege and a blessing for us. We love the spa and the steakhouse and all the details that make up the Inn.
Here are two of my favorite posts ever - both taken celebrating our 5th anniversary at the Madonna Inn:
As you can see my wife LOVES red. We planned to knock out all the red-themed rooms first.
I've attached some more photos of our time at the hotel. I don't think I have a more genuine smile anywhere else in the world.
