I can remember as a child my mother and grandparents took me on a road trip and we stopped at the Copper Cafe for lunch. My mom took me inside to see the main dining room and I can clearly remember seeing the swinging doll and thinking “THIS… THIS is how very cool and fun adults vacation!” I had dreamed of going to the Madonna ever since! Fast forward about 20 years and I married the love of my life. For our first Valentine’s Day I got a small piece of paper and printed on it was a room reservation for the Madonna from my husband. I never once shared my dream of going with him and when I opened it he said, “I don’t know this just seems like something you’d be into.” Basically I squealed with excitement the whole weekend! I asked him to promise to bring me here at least once a year forever and so far he has made good on the promise! We have spent both of our birthdays there (my 30th with several friends and family joining), romantic weekends, 2 girl’s weekends for baby showers, and the best (subject for the picture) weekend - our baby moon! We welcomed twins in June of this year and when I asked my husband what he thinks their first trip will be he said, without pause, “Oh definitely the Madonna.”
